Prince works directly with customers and through longstanding distributor relationships to develop the best products to meet specific individual customer needs.
Chromite and Zircon specialty sands are used in molds and cores to reduce casting defects and lower cleaning costs for beter casting finish. Zircon Flour is used in mold and core wash coatings for added refractoriness to reduce metal penetration.
Consistently manufacturing iron oxides since 1858, Prince has developed the largest and broadest line of foundry red, black, and yellow iron oxides in the industry. Prince’s Iron oxides are used in no-bake molds, cores and resin coated shell sand applications to improve castings by eliminating veining, penetration, pinholes, burn in, burn on and lustrous carbon casting defects and reducing cleaning room labor. Our customers report increased productivity due to an improvement in performance, scrap rate, finish and overall quality.
Iron Pyrites are added to the melting furnace to raise the sulphur content of specialty irons and steel.
To better serve customers, Prince maintains a high quality analytical department for raw and finished materials testing. In the analytical laboratory the critical elements of every lot are measured to insure products meet all specification and performance criteria.
